Volumetric
weight – how to calculate it
Transport tariff
are based on a minimal density of 10
pounds per cubic foot (for ground service).
The transportation cost is calculated
on the highest weight, whether it’s
the real weight or the volumetric weight.
In order to find your volumetric weight,
you must multiply the 3 dimensions of
your parcel and divide it by a precise
factor, whether your dimensions are
in inches or centimeters.
In inches
: (Length
x width x height) divided by 172.8 =
your volumetric weight
Example : (24 inches x 12 inches x 12
inches) divided by 172.8 = 20 pounds
In centimetres
:
(Length x width x height) divided
by 2700 = your volumetric weight
Example : (60 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm)
divided by 172.8 = 20 pounds
Fuel surcharge
Since the fuel price is an
important aspect of our operation
cost and that we cannot predict the
international market, Nationex cannot
guarantee a fixed surcharge tariff.
We base our fuel surcharge on the
weekly diesel price in Montreal available
from a canadian consultant firm, MJ
Ervin (www.mjervin.com). In this manner,
all our customers are sure to have
the lowest fuel surcharge. |
